Import Crew Members – Pago

Overview

You can put many employees on crews at once by uploading a CSV file. Each row puts one employee on one crew.

The import only adds people. Employees already on a crew stay on it, even if they are not in your file.

The whole file is checked before anything is saved. If any row has an error, nothing is imported.

Before you start

The crews must already exist. See Import crews.
The employees must already exist. See Import employees.
Save your file as CSV (comma delimited), encoded as UTF-8 or Unicode.

Preparing your file

Start your file with a header row. Column names are not case-sensitive. If there is no header row, Pago reads CrewName first, then EmployeeNumber.

Template: copy the header row below into a new file and save it as a .csv. It has both columns in the order shown in the table. Add one row per crew member.

Import your crew members

Go to Crews.
Click the arrow next to New Crew and choose Import Crew Members.
In the Crew Member Import CSV window, click Choose File and select your CSV.
Click Import. A progress message shows while the file is checked and processed.
When it finishes, check the totals. Duplicates are rows with the same crew and employee as another row.
Click Close. The Crews list refreshes.

Fixing errors

If there are errors, the window lists each problem row with its line number and the error message. Duplicate rows show in their own table.

Message	How to fix it
Crew Name is required.	Enter a CrewName on every row.
Employee Number is required.	Enter an EmployeeNumber on every row.
Duplicate record found: '…' appears multiple times in the file.	Remove the repeated crew and employee pair.
Could not parse the request body…	The file is empty or not a valid CSV. Check it has at least one row and is saved as CSV.

FAQ

How do I remove someone from a crew? This import cannot remove people. Remove them on the crew's page, or move them with the CrewName column in Import employees, which takes them off their old crews.

Can an employee be on more than one crew? Yes. Add one row for each crew.
